I Hate Meditation - Do I NEED It To Conquer Anxiety?

Updated: Dec 7, 2022

No. But kind of.

Allow me to explain :).

Growing up, I was anxious AF. Like big time bugging out OKURRR.

I’m still very ‘overly mentally energized’ but where my mind used to work against me 95% of the time, now my overactive mind works FOR ME 95% of the time.

And that’s a WORLD of difference. It's something doctors told me wasn’t possible, and yet is something I see happen consistently for my clients who use my method.

If you have a tendency for anxiety, you KNOW that sure, right now it feels sh*tty, but I invite you to see that there is a RAW power that’s available for you to mine from that incredible brain you have, once you learn to use it for you and not have it work uncontrollably against you.

So anyway! Back to worrywart-meditation-rebel-me.

I’d be big time-tripping, over literally any and everything, and people would always say, “GIRL - You need to MEDI-TATE! Sheesh.”

(And then politely walk away to escape my web of overthinking I was trapping them in lol).

And I mean, that sounded like a practical solution - to meditate - except that IT WASN’T!

If you have a super active mind, and you sit in silence for 10 minutes, your mind has ALL that free space to worry - and you come OUT of the meditation even more anxious than before you went INTO the meditation!

Hahahahahhaha.

That’s when I realized, people who were suggesting these solutions that ‘theoretically’ made sense didn’t really understand what it was like to HAVE this kind of mind and USE the solutions they were suggesting.

So I gave up on meditating. And spent the next 15 years looking for solutions, that would later help me get off meds, take my anxiety from a 9 to a 0, get complete control of my mind and life and help others do the same!

FOR REAL.

It’s been an insanely incredible journey.

And guess what - Meditation happens to be one of them!

BUT here’s the catch.

It’s not ‘traditional’ mediation. Because I’m sure, if you’re reading this, you know that traditional meditation just doesn’t really do it. It’s not hitting the spot for our speedy gonzalez minds over here.

It’s a very special kind of meditation, that works for us that I've created.

I call Meditations For People Who Hate Meditating!

It does a few things:

  1. It helps break the momentum of a super-fast mind, so it can operate at a speed that isn’t overwhelming to you so you can manage it, and harness it, instead of it feeling out of control.

  2. It helps train you to give you the ability to choose the thoughts that serve you and release the ones that don’t. This essentially helps you neurologically rewire your brain to naturally think more joyful thoughts and naturally think less anxious thoughts. This means you get to a point of NATURALLY, effortlessly, living in a state of calm, where, as one my clients put it ‘anxiety is the anomaly, not the norm’ which is just EFFING EVERYTHING!

  3. It helps you visualize and embody what you WANT to bring into your life and experience that as if it’s real right now. This makes you leave the meditation MOTIVATED and ENERGIZED AF. It also helps you to break out of the programming you may have been in for quite some time (I’m not good enough, I won’t be able to, I can’t), and embody NEW CONSTRUCTIVE PROGRAMMING that will help you create your empowered future! This is such a powerful part of this. And there is a lot of science behind how this works.

So the short answer to the original question is YES - meditation is a CRITICAL fundamental part of your journey to retrain your mind to work for you instead of having it work against you.

BUT NO - the traditional meditations will probably not serve you best.

SO! If you know me, you know my motto is ‘action is where the magic happens.’
